TO A FLOODING-PROOF TERRITORY
By the Major Risks Architects association I have co-founded in March 2016, we have been able to set up a mandate with a municipality in Hautes-Pyrénées region in order to include awareness of the flood risk into the city project for the development of banks which were severely damaged during the floods in 2012 and 2013. Our approach towards municipal representatives, citizens, pubic engineering institution and technical services gave us the opportunity to deploy collaborative tools. These henceforth are embedded in the project programming and conception. I had an opportunity to present that work to the “Etablissement Public Loire” and to the “Cerema” with the objective that urbanism and architecture will be linked to risk prevention strategies.
